Development, demolition, drinks and discussion: an event low down

On Thursday 21 January, there was a definite buzz going around Beijing for CHP’s second event of the year: a documentary screening at The Bookworm. The event showed Beijingers’ interest in cultural heritage protection and all 100 available tickets were sold! The film New Beijing – Reinventing a City, produced by Australian film company Film Projects, was well received and the audience was soon peppering CHP founder Mr He Shuzhong, and Memory of China founder Mr Zhang Jinqi, with many questions about cultural heritage protection in Beijing. CHP representative, Mr Matthew Hu Xinyu, deftly moderated the discussion in the packed room.

Over 2,000 RMB was raised, but more importantly, 100 people left the event with a better understanding of both CHP and  cultural heritage preservation. If you missed the screening and discussion, CHP has several upcoming events – stay tuned for more details.DSC01114

CHP would like to thank  Mr He Shuzhong, Mr Zhang Jinqi, Mr Matthew Hu Xinyu, The Bookworm, Film Projects and everyone else who helped make this event a success.
