CHP’s Annual Thank You Gathering Event Lowdown

January marks the period when local Beijingers all bundle up to take on the freezing subzero degree weather before Chinese New Year. Fortunately, for CHP and our supporters, this is also the time of the year when we reunite and celebrate CHP highlights in 2010.

At the annual gathering, we shared with our audience with CHP’s history, stretching all the way back to 1998. The presentation covered CHP’s development into a registered NGO, a number of CHP’s succesful stories in the protection of Chinese cultural heritage. We also showcased some short documentaries and clips from fundraising events in 2010.

As a grassroots NGO, supporters are instrumental in furthering CHP’s mission — from local volunteers in remoted Congjiang and A’er Village and interns at our Beijing office, to CHP partners and overseas donors. To show our sincere appreciation, we presented special courtyard gate models to some of CHP’s most outstanding translators. We also gave Congjiang Archive calendars to the event attendants as a small new year token.

For 2011, CHP will hope to solidify its supporters and create a CHP’s membership community. We will continue to organize public events as well as some membership-only events. You too can become a proud CHP member for an annual fee of RMB 50. We are working hard to make CHP’s 2011 events series exciting and insightful for you. We thank you in advance for your support!
