Taste of Beijing

Taste of Beijing

Savor the wonderful flavors and exquisite tastes of Beijing while learning more about the ancient city through its famous traditional dishes.

Beijing Cultural Heritage Protection Center (CHP) and The Hutong present Taste of Beijing, an exciting culinary experience of the capital.

Learn how to cook three Old Beijing dishes, using fresh and seasonal local ingredients, and hear the story behind the recipes.

Passionate food lover and chef Suer Zhou will take the August 6 class. Born in rural Zhejiang province, Sue can still remember her grandparents making homemade potato starch noodles, homemade tofu and tending to vegetables and chickens. She loves making dishes from scratch, shuns additives, loves pure ingredients and believes that high-quality food doesn’t have to be expensive, but fresh ingredients are a must to create delicious dishes.
